   Thanks for linking to your wife’s post. My family welcomed our first foster son just 2 months ago, and reading her “if you ever’s” was entertaining since the home inspection and interviews are so fresh in my mind.

   With the chaos of learning to function without a full night’s sleep after 3 years, it’s easy to get wrapped up in the minute to minute. But like you, in the quiet times, I find it hard to think about what happens if he doesn’t stay forever. All those things I take for granted that I will get to see and experience (God willing) with my own children, just might not be part of the plan for his life.

   Tough to think about…but encouraging to read a post like yours and know that there are others called to this as well.
